To the Church, Love from God

To the Church,
Love from God

All believers that love and follow God make up God’s church. No matter where you are in the world if you believe in God then you are a part of His church.

God has things that He wants His church (us) to do. In this series we will learn how generous God is and how He gives His church everything we need to do what He has asked us to do.

Lesson 1: God gave us Jesus
(John 3:16)

God loves us so much that He gave us everything we need to do the things He wants us to do. God gave us His son, Jesus so that we could be forgiven for our sin. When we the believers take communion, we do so to remember this free gift God gave us.

Lesson 2: God gives us His unconditional love
(Ephesians 3:18)

God’s love for us is unconditional. That means that God loves us even though we have done nothing to deserve it. His love for us will never stop.

Lesson 3: God gives us the Holy Spirit
(Acts 1:8)

God sent the Holy Spirit to help us. The Holy Spirit gives us gifts that help us to do the things God wants us to do. Different gifts are given to different people, no gift is more important than any other. All believers need to play their part well so that no one is neglected, like the widows of the early church.

Lesson 4: God gives us the Bible
(2 Timothy 3:16-16)

The Bible is inspired by God and given to us to know more about Him and how to live. The Old Testament shows us that we needed Jesus to come to save us. The New Testament teaches us about Jesus’ life, death, resurrection. We can also read about how to live a life that pleases God and all the promises that Jesus will return.

Lesson 5: God gives us each other
(1 Thessalonians 5:11)

We the believers are the church, God gives us each other. We all need to play our part in the body of the church. No matter our abilities, we can all be like Barnabas and encourage others.

Lesson 6: God gives us gifts to serve others
(1 Peter 4:10)

God has given us gifts and He wants us to serve others with love. We read about the serving heart of a woman who helped Elisha whenever he came to the town she and her husband lived in.

Lesson 7: God gives us His message to tell others
(Ephesians 4:11)

God wants all of us to tell others about Him but to some in the church He gives the gift of telling. In this lesson we learn about evangelists, pastors, teachers, prophets and apostles and how they use their gifts to tell His message.

Lesson 8: God gives us teachers to teach His truth
(2 Timothy 2:2)

God has given us teachers to help us understand what is true. The truth we hear from teachers God has given us and should be passed on to others so that they can pass it on as well. Philip was obedient when he helped the Ethiopian man understand the Word of God.

Lesson 9: God gives us leaders
(Hebrews 13:7)

Leaders teach us the Word and their lives are an example of how to have faith in God. Good leaders let God direct them, love God and are given the gifts they need from God to be a good leader. We need to submit to, pray for and honour our leaders. Moses, Daniel and David were given to God’s people when they needed good leaders.

Lesson 10: God gives us our story
(Mark 5:19)

God is a part of each of our stories and He wants us to share our stories with others so that they can love God too.
