Lesson 1: The battle belongs to God
(2 Chronicles 20:15)
We all face different battles every day. God wants us to give our battles over to Him because through Him we have victory. King Jehoshaphat knew that every battle belonged to the Lord and stood firm when the enemies came to challenge him.
Lesson 2: Standing firm with the shield of faith
(Ephesians 6:16)
In the Bible there are some Hebrew names that people gave God to remind them of what He did or the way He loves us. Knowing who God is and what He has already done helps us overcome doubt and stand firm in our faith.
Lesson 3: Standing firm with the belt of truth
(John 14:6)
When we know that God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Word are all truth, we realise how important it is to believe in and live in the truth. When we have Jesus in our lives, He helps us choose God’s truth every day.
Lesson 4: Standing firm with the helmet of salvation
(Philippians 4:8)
When we believe in Jesus, His truth helps protect our minds from the lies of the world. By reading the Bible and talking to God we will know His promises more. Putting on the helmet of salvation helps us stand firm when the world wants us to doubt the truth of what God has said.
Lesson 5: Standing firm with the breastplate of righteousness
(Proverbs 4:23)
Understanding that when we believe that Jesus died for us, we receive the gift of righteousness. The breastplate of righteousness helps protect our hearts from the enemy’s attack and stand firm in who we are in Christ.
Lesson 6: Standing firm with the sword of the spirit
(Hebrews 4:12)
God gave us six pieces of armour but only one weapon. That’s because the Word of God is a powerful sword that cuts through the lies of the enemy. Jesus shows us that the enemy will try hard to tempt and confuse us but when we know God’s word well, we can stand firm.
Lesson 7: Standing firm with the Good News shoes
(Psalm 96:2)
We need to be ready and prepared to take the Gospel of the Good News to wherever God asks us to. Maybe next door or maybe another continent, either way if we haven’t put on our Good News shoes, we can’t go anywhere.
Lesson 8: Prayer
(1 Thessalonians 5:17)
God wants us to C.H.A.T. to Him all the time about everything. Prayer is a way we can experience relationship with Him and hear His plans for our lives. Having a close bond with the Lord helps us stand firm in every situation.
Lesson 9: Armour of God games day
(Ephesians 6:14-17)
Have fun rotating between stations while recapping everything we have learnt about standing firm with the Armour of God.
