Jesus is the Greatest
Lesson 1: Jesus is our Creator (Colossians 1:16)
Jesus existed before everything. All things were created through Him and for Him. Jesus created everything, things we can see and things we can’t see. He holds all things together.
Lesson 2: Jesus is the Promised One (Matthew 16:16)
Jesus is the only one who ever met all the prophecies perfectly. This tells us something important, this was not an accident. This was all God’s plan. This confirms that He is the Messiah, the Promised Saviour.
Lesson 3: Jesus is God’s Son (Matthew 3:17)
When we think of the Christmas story we often miss the most important part – that God sent His only Son to live with us, as a man, and to become our Saviour. Jesus really is the greatest because He came as both fully man and fully God.
Lesson 4: Jesus is our Teacher (John 7:16)
Jesus is the perfect teacher, He taught God’s message. Jesus taught so many people at different places and different times. Everything He taught brought honour to God. We need to be learning from Jesus’ example and teaching others about Him too.
Lesson 5: Jesus is I AM (Exodus 3:14)
“I Am” is a very intense way of saying I, and only I, am. When people heard Jesus call Himself “I Am” they would have known immediately that He was saying He was God. We look at seven “I Ams” to sum up that Jesus is everything we need.
Lesson 6: Jesus is our Shepherd (John 10:11)
A good shepherd is someone who knows, loves, protects and cares for his sheep. Jesus is our Good Shepherd because He does all of this AND He laid down His life for us so that we get to spend forever with Him in Heaven one day.
Lesson 7: Jesus is King (Revelation 17:14)
Jesus is the perfect, the greatest, the most powerful ruler of all. He is the King over all kings and unlike other kingdoms, His Kingdom will last forever. And this perfect King invites us to be a part of His Kingdom too.
Lesson 8: Jesus did miracles (Matthew 28:18)
Jesus’ miracles show us how much He loves us that He brought healing, life and provision like no one else can. More importantly they show us His authority over everything.
Lesson 9: Jesus was a humble servant (Mark 10:45)
The Bible tells us that even though He is King, Jesus did not come to be served but instead to serve. He is the greatest King with all authority and yet He chose to serve us and save us.
Lesson 10: Jesus is our Saviour (John 3:16)
When sin entered the world, nothing we could do could save us from death and separation from God. We need a Saviour, Jesus is the only One who can save us.
Lesson 11: Jesus is life (John 14:6)
When Jesus died on the cross, He made the only way for us to be with God. He is the only way we can have life with God forever.
