I am a Child of God

I am a Child of God

God is a Good Father, have you chosen to be His child? Let’s explore who God is. When we know all that, He has done and is still doing, our decision to call ourselves a “Child of God” is an easy one.

Lesson 1: God is a good Father, have you chosen to be His child?
(John 1:12)

When we believe in Jesus we become children of God and what a perfect Father God is. He knows our names and the number of hairs on our head, He thinks about us more than there are grains of sand, and He even keeps track of all our sorrows.

Lesson 2: God is speaking, are you listening?
(1 Samuel 3:10b)

When Samuel realised that God was speaking to him, he told God he was listening. Did you know God is speaking to you too?

Lesson 3: God is your shepherd, have you chosen to follow Him?
(John 10:27)

Jesus our perfect shepherd gives us rest, strength, protection, and everything else that we need. Are you choosing to follow Him?

Lesson 4: God is your creator, are you ready to be who He created you to be?
(Ephesians 2:10)

Moses didn’t think he was good enough to do the things God had asked him to do. Will you listen when God calls you His masterpiece or will you make excuses too?

Lesson 5: God calls and equips you, are you ready to go?
(2 Peter 1:3)

Jeremiah was given a really difficult job to do but God gave Him all the help he needed to do it. Isn’t it exciting that God helps us do His plans?

Lesson 6: God is your provider; do you trust Him?
(Matthew 6:33)

Elijah trusted God to provide and God sent ravens to bring him food and make the oil and flour keep on lasting. We can trust and obey God too.

Lesson 7: God is forgiving, are you ready to say sorry?
(1 John 1:9)

If we confess our sins, then God is faithful to forgive them. Let’s look at the story of Judas and Peter as an example.

Lesson 8: God loves you, do you love others?
(John 13:35)

God loves us and He wants us to love others too. He wants our love for others to prove that we are His disciples.

Lesson 9: God is with you, are you spending time with Him?
(Matthew 28:20b)

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came, just like Jesus had promised. The best news is when we believe in Jesus, He lives inside of us and never leaves.

Lesson 10: God keeps His promises – let’s worship Him!
(Psalm 146:6)

Play some games with your children as they learn about the promises God has kept.
