Be a light to the world

Be a light to the world

The world can be a dark place, but God has given us His light. This curriculum is aimed at encouraging children to shine their light wherever God takes them.

Lesson 1: Jesus is the light of the world
(John 8:12)

In a bright light, Jesus met with Paul on the road to Damascus and showed him his sin.

Just like the world needs light, we need Jesus. He gives the light of life.

Lesson 2: Jesus is my lighthouse
(Psalm 27:1)

There are storms in our lives that can scare us but when we put our trust in Jesus, we have nothing to fear.

Lesson 3: Let His light shine through me
(Matthew 5:16)

Just like we wouldn’t hide a light under our bed, we shouldn’t hide the fact that we love Jesus and are His children. Our lives and actions should help others praise God too.

Lesson 4: His word is a lamp unto my feet
(Psalm 119:105)

God has given us His word as a guide on how to live. Have some fun turning on the light bulbs as you discover what some of these Bible verses are.

Lesson 5: Be prepared
(Matthew 24:44)

The parable of the 10 bridesmaids teaches us that we need to be prepared for when Jesus returns.

Lesson 6: Just believe
(John 12:46)

When Jesus healed the man born blind, he believed Jesus was God’s son, the promised Messiah. Others saw what Jesus did but remained spiritually blind. Will you see Jesus for who He truly is?

Lesson7: Fix your eyes on Jesus
(Hebrews 12:2)

Paul was beaten, shipwrecked, stoned, put in prison, and went through so much more but he never stopped loving and following Jesus. Let us run with endurance and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

Lesson 8: Celebrate Jesus
(Psalm 19:1)

Celebrate what Jesus has done! Even the Heavens tell of how great He is – will you do so too?

Lesson 9: Be a city on a hill. Don’t hide your light.
(2 Timothy 1:7)

David was so overwhelmed by how great God is that he even praised God in his underwear! Sometimes we worry what others think and so we don’t tell others about Jesus but remember God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-discipline.
