What does the bible say?

What does the bible say?

In this series we will be asking a whole lot of questions and helping the children to use their Bible to find the answer. The questions we will be focusing on are to help the child form a strong foundation of the Christian faith which they can build upon and use to answer further questions they may have or others might ask them.

Lesson 1: The Bible tells us God’s story (Joshua 1:8)

The Bible is an incredible book because the whole story is about Jesus and salvation through Him. Every word is inspired by God and the Holy Spirit helps reveal God’s message to us.

Lesson 2: What is the Bible? (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The Bible is God’s message to us. It teaches us what is true and it highlights our need for a Saviour. We are never too young to start reading the Bible because it helps us do the work God has for us.

Lesson 3: Who is God? (Psalm 145:3)

God is so great that we cannot measure His greatness or fully understand Him but we can use the Bible to get to know God better. The trinity is God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Lesson 4: Who are we? (Genesis 1:27)

We are created by God in His image, to love, worship and obey Him. We were made on purpose for a purpose.

Lesson 5: What is sin? (Romans 3:23)

Sin is a big deal! It breaks our relationship with God. The Bible teaches us that even though we try to live perfect lives, we all sin. We cannot fix things on our own, we need Jesus!

Lesson 6: Who is Jesus? (Colossians 1:15)

Jesus has always existed, He is God. Jesus is God’s Son who came to earth to show us who God is.

Lesson 7: What is Salvation? (Romans 10:9)

We have all sinned and no matter how hard we try, we cannot get rid of our sin on our own. God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for us. Jesus came alive again making it so that anyone who believes can be forgiven of their sins and be with God forever.

Lesson 8: Who is the Holy Spirit? (Ephesians 1:13)

Because we cannot see the Holy Spirit we may wonder if He is in us. But if you are a follower of Jesus then He definitely is. The Bible tells us that He will never leave us and He is there when we need help.

Lesson 9: Jesus’ return (Matthew 24:44)

We can trust that Jesus is coming back one day. We  don’t know when Jesus will come but as believers we live for Jesus until He does.
