I am

I am

Jesus is the great “I Am”. When he said these statements, he was teaching us that life, security, hope, our identity, and salvation is only found in Him.

Lesson 1: I am I am
(Exodus 3:14-15)

God spoke to Moses through a burning bush and sent him to tell the Egyptians that he had been sent by I AM – the one who was, who is and who is to come. Isn’t it wonderful to know that God has always been and will always be.

Lesson 2: I am the bread of life
(John 6:35)

Jesus fed the 5000 and taught the people that He is the bread of life. He is the way to eternal life with God in Heaven.

Lesson 3: I am the light of the world
(John 8:12)

The world can be a dark place filled with sin but Jesus is the light of the world. He takes away our sin and shows us how to walk in the light.

Lesson 4: I am the good shepherd
(John 10:14)

Just like sheep need a shepherd we need Jesus. He leads us, is strong when we are weak, keeps us safe, looks after us, finds us and shows us which way to go.

Lesson 5: I am the door
(John 10:9)

Jesus is the only way to God in Heaven. We need to know Jesus’ voice, listen to what He says and follow His instructions perfectly.

Lesson 6: I am the resurrection and the life
(John 11:25)

When Jesus rose again, He defeated death.  Death doesn’t have to make us afraid anymore, if we have Jesus in our hearts.  Not only that, but Jesus is life!  Those who follow Him have, “Life to the full!”

Lesson 7: I am the way, the truth and the life
(John 14:6)

When Jesus told His disciples that He was going to die they became very troubled but Jesus comforted them by telling them about the place He will prepare for us in Heaven. We can be confident to know that Jesus is the way to Heaven.

Lesson 8: I am the true vine
(John 15:5)

Jesus is the vine and His followers are the branches.  The branches need to have the vine to grow.  If they don’t, they’re going to fall off and be of no good.  We all need to stay connected to Jesus, through reading the Bible, going to church and praying.

Lesson 9: I am His
(Isaiah 43:1)

It can be so easy to get caught up in the lies we believe about ourselves but instead we should believe we are who Jesus says we are! He has called you by name and He says you are His!
