Christ-Centred Life

Christ-Centred Life

Becoming a new Christian can often come with so many preconceived ideas and questions, but that’s what this curriculum is all about. Let’s take a look at some of the fundamental and important truths that we hold onto and have a life that is “Christ Centred”.

This curriculum was inspired by Cornerstone Church Johannesburg Christ Centred Life course.

Lesson 1: In Christ – Know God
(Acts 17:28)

God made everything, He is generous, and He judges fairly. Even though we have sinned, God wants a relationship with us.

Lesson 2: In Christ – The extravagant love of the Father
(1 John 3:1)

God’s love is that of a perfect father and we are His sons and daughters. The parable of the prodigal son teaches us that God’s love is not earned and cannot be lost – He just lavishes it on us.

Lesson 3: In Christ – Hope
(Hebrews 6:19)

The hope we have in the world is not guaranteed, but the hope we have in Jesus is a confident expectation for what He has promised.

Lesson 4: Christ in us – Holiness
(1 Peter 1:15)

God is holy and set apart. God makes us holy by forgiving us and filling us with His Holy Spirit.

Lesson 5: Christ in us – The Bible
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The Bible is the word of God. The Bible helps us to know God, but it also shows us how we should live like God wants us to live. We need to be reading the Bible and understanding the scriptures so that we can grow.

Lesson 6: Christ in us – Relationship
(James 4:8)

Jesus wants us to be close to Him. To get closer to God we spend time worshipping Him, reading the Bible, and speaking (praying) to Him.

Lesson 7: Christ through us – Church
(1 Corinthians 12:27)

Jesus is the head of the church, and we are the body. We all have a purpose and part to play.

Lesson 8: Christ through us – Generosity
(Psalm 2:21)

Everything we have comes from God. The widow, Mary and Martha and the little boy giving his lunch all teach us how to be cheerful givers.

Lesson 9: Christ through us – Calling all sailors

Now that we know about living in Christ, Christ in us and Christ through us, what is our response?
